Georgia MBDA Centers Highlight MED WEEK Award-Winning Clients

As we recognize the major achievements and success of all minority business enterprises (MBEs), we are proud to announce and highlight two MBEs for the national recognition they will receive during 2020 Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week, September 14-19, 2020. Our clients, Aventure Aviation, won “Exporter of the Year,” presented to a minority-owned firm that has achieved outstanding success in penetrating domestic and global markets, and Corporate Environmental Risk Management (CERM) won “Construction Firm of the Year,” presented to a minority-owned firm that has achieved outstanding success in private or public construction projects and has exhibited revenue and job growth over a sustained period of time.
“Aventure Aviation is truly honored with the recognition as MBDA’s Minority Export Firm of the Year. Our success is due to the many organizations who have supported us in the past 20 years such as MBDA, U.S. Commercial Services, EXIM Bank, U.S. Department of Commerce and others,” said Zaheer Faruqi, President of Aventure Aviation.
While our clients continue to thrive and scale, we are pleased to see their efforts recognized and archived in historical records that display their strengths and achievements to the MBE companies following in their footsteps. We value MBEs and are excited to support and assist through this pivotal time. Our goal is to continue assisting and strengthening MBEs while they plan to reopen and strategize for the future.
“We are grateful and humbled by the support and commitment of the Georgia MBDA Business Center has provided CERM. It is a true testament to the hard-working professionals at the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute, especially Ms. Donna Ennis and her team,” said Albert Edwards, Founder and Managing Director of CERM. “Not only was it an honor to be nominated, but to receive the highest national recognition for a minority-owned company on our company’s 25th anniversary makes it all more special. Everyone at CERM thanks the Georgia MBDA Business Center for its support and guidance year after year.”
The MBDA National MED Week Awards are the highest level of national recognition that a U.S. minority-owned firm, individual, or organization can receive from the U.S. Department of Commerce. It is the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of MBEs, as well as the individuals and organizations that have demonstrated their commitment to advancing MBEs and the minority business community.
